SENSE IX - 3D Environment & Product Visualization

SENSE IX

A complete CGI personal project I took to explore the minimal yet environmental side of my product renders. As always being a fan of 3D art I started learning Blender around 2020. Being in Lockdown made me utilize the time and patience to follow something I always wanted to try.

I remember correctly I told my boss in 2019 that someday I will be doing CGI art, especially for cosmetic products. In those days I did not have time and equipment to make anything out of 3D.

So after quitting the full-time job, I started watching youtube tutorials about Blender and finally took the step to get familiar with it. After a few months of learning and leaving the software in the middle, I made this cosmetic product Line up based on my imagination.

Then recently a few weeks ago I took the 3D model of that product again and used it to create a minimal yet modern set design with vegetation & plants in place. Always been an admirer of white color I chose to keep the overall feel of this set design cool & as minimal as possible.

If you've read this far then please take a brief look at the project and feel free to comment whatever comes to your mind.

With each render, I tried to keep most of the attention on the product itself but at the same time gave the environment a chance to compliment the composition as well. In my head, the render looked like something which came from a soothing yet dreamy place.

Then came a close-up shot of the product where I used the rule of thirds to make an impactful composition for my product. With a shallow depth of field, I tried my best to show case the shape of the object while maintaining a wide environment.

At last, I made one final composition but with more assets and the product. With this render, I gave the environment a long-range yet clean set design. While placing a few trees in the background I managed to make the render look huge and something that can be explored.

This project helped me understand the importance of scene optimization in Blender because of a lot of geometry I did manage to learn a lot more about scattering and instancing. Working in a huge environment made me look for ways to experiment with the sky texture.

Whole project was done in Blender 3D while using B3D Biomes assets with a Nishita sky texture in place. Post processed the images in Adobe Photoshop 2022. I do post a lot of my workflow & render practices on my other social media mentioned below.
